Penguin Book Covers
These book covers for penguin by Coralie Bickford-Smith are beautiful, they would look fantastic on my bookshelves!
Through browsing her site I found a link to Uppercase magazine, a magazine for the creative and curious which looks great and its worth checking out their site and trying to get hold of a copy of the magazine.

The adventures of Abney and Teal
I discovered a new animation on cbeebies, its called the adventures of Abney and Teal and its fantastic.
Abney and Teal live in their own little world on an island in
the middle
of a lake, in the middle of a park, in the
middle of a big city, which is a wonderful concept for the
stories, but it is the style of the animation that caught my eye. It is a
real mixture and has a stopmotion type feel to it and some of it is made in
maya. It was created by Ragdoll studios and Antony Ward was involved in working on the rigs for it.

Craft Handmade Christmas Cards
Me, Lewis and Freya have had fun making some christmas cards this year. Lewis did the snowmen ones all on his own (well I cut out the hats for him but thats it) so proud. Obviously I did the Robins but the tail is Lewis' handprint and the wings are Freyas. Great that they are all the same design but each one is unique!
Christmas card
I think this is my one of my favourite christmas cards this year, I love beach huts and who would have thought they could be so festive! Kat has done a nice watercolour of some beachuts, maybe that will appear on the blog one day!
Craft - Stockings
I have made some stockings for the children, they look cute hung up on
the fireplace, Lewis has been checking it almost daily for presents!!

Kung Foo Panda
So me and Lewis sat down and watched Kung Foo Panda on monday and it reminded me how amazing animation is. I am mostly intrested in the environments and this is something that Dreamworks is excellent at, the attention to detail and the styling is beautiful.
I also love the style of the opening title dream sequence by James Baxter Animation, you can watch it here,
there is also some information on the site about how it was made. It is
the combination of styles that I love; the mixed media, the little hand
drawn touches, the colours.
And some images from the concept work for the dream sequence.
