Cupcakes - Watercolour time lapse
Didn't think I'd be posting a timelapse again so soon. But they're fun to make and a record of the process of making/drawing/painting something.
Still plodding along with watercolours. I figure the more I do, the more practice I'll get and that's the only way to learn.

Snowball
Snowball from Peter Peake on Vimeo.
I love the style of this animation which I think fits the story well. Not sure how Peter made it but I love it.

Britain In A Day
Last week, the BBC asked the nation to take a video of their day on the 12th November. Although I did go out and do things such as see my sister and her family and pop up the road to the shops, I thought I'd create a time lapse of a self portrait in pen. Here is the result, let me know what you think!

Text
Have been playing around with paint effects and the toon shaders in maya, starting to get some nice blurry effects, its cool that its in 3D and could be animated or whatever. Loads more settings to play around with when I get the chance.

Maya Modelling
A 3D bird I'll call him Squawky. Squawky is a work in progress. I imagine him having a patchwork style texture nice and plump with lots of nice fabrics and patterns. Maybe Squawky could be a bit tatty and have fluff falling out of his seams and I think his legs and beak should be wire wrapped in yarn or something. He obviously still needs a bit of work on the model, the tail especially, beak and legs but its a start (who knows if there will ever be a finish though!) I am enjoying doing some 3d work again though, and hopefully posting it will encourage me to continue.

Harmony - Online Procedural Drawing Tool
http://mrdoob.com/projects/harmony/
I drew this tree using this fantastic tool. Would be interesting to see if these shading effects can be applied in 3d...

More Animated Bean
I found a couple of other Animated Bean files:
Bean in the rain was the first one I created, the others just followed. I still love the little fellow. I'm sure I tried creating him in 3D once, but I don't think it turned out to well.
Perhaps I should try again.

Yarn Bombing
Feminine graffiti, some great little knits and inspiring ideas. I think Kat is gonna love this! I found this image on google and it linked to Maria Lyngs blog which is full of lots of nice stuff. Seems like yarn bombing is a bit of a craze.
Shopping in Southampton
A couple of months ago I went to Southampton to do a bit of shopping, but mainly to visit IKEA to pick up some furniture.
IKEA had loads of cool fabrics. I loved the chunky wood pattern.
And we popped into Papaerchase. Anyone who loves stationery loves Paperchase. They always have such cool designs.
They had some lovely Christmas cards for sale (Excuse the quality/blurry-ness)
Thinking I need to get started on mine! Not to mention Christmas shopping too D:

Tv Advert Audi Hummingbird
This is the Audi advert Kat showed me the other week and I saw it on telly for the first time the other day. It is so beautifully done and I love the concept behind it. This is the kind of thing I like to do, one kind of object representing another to create a visual metaphoric symbolic contrast thingy ha ha does that even make sense? I love the fox gloves above and the field of yellow pedestrian crossing lights. Nature and traffic do not go together well which is the beauty of this ad. Triggered a memory of my major project for my degree where I was trying to make a portrait of mother nature by making the figure out of bits of things in nature, a tree trunk for her leg, fish scales on her arm vine hair etc, I debated adding more contrast by making her mechanical in sections, but I got lost in the nature side of it but its an idea I always wanted to explore further. Must find those sketches and post them here to remind me ;)

The Animated Bean
I used to draw this fellow all the time.
He was a way of portraying how I felt in the simplest way.
This animation sums up how I feel about what I do and has done for years. I can't remember exactly when I created it, but it was certainly during my time at university.
..why a bean? We are 'Human Beans' of course.

Sharpies!
I have never ventured into the land of the sharpie.
I'm not sure If I should be excited or scared.
I have just spent a penny short of £20.
...they look so pretty.
